Wedding Planning....can't say I'm complaining

I have been so busy wedding planning that I haven't posted on here. On March 3rd, some of my girls and I went wedding dress shopping!! I was so excited but boy was I not prepared for the overwhelming feeling I had. I was so confused that I didn't even know what to do. I have been looking in a lot of magazines and websites of different pictures and such that I thought I knew what I wanted, and it was this Alfred Angelo dress.

Well mistake #1 was not trying this dress first! All day I could not get this dress out of my mind and couldn't make a decision, but after I tried this dress on and it was a little more revealing then I wanted I decided on a lace dress. By the point that I made a decision the store was closed so we are going back tomorrow to order the dress and take lots of pictures ! I could not be more excited!

How I asked my girls!

My Girls are one of the most important parts to my wedding and I wanted to ask them in a special way. I will have 1 maid of honor and 5 bridesmaids making 6 total. All but 2 do not live in Tuscaloosa anymore so I wanted to do something neat that I could mail to them. Because I would be mailing this i could not include any liquid or things that would get messed up in the mail. I found several blogs with different ideas so I combined a lot of them. (I got most of my ideas from Rinse and Repeat : http://www.rinserepeatblog.com/2011/07/askin-my-maids.html, so as not to steal credit where credit is due.) I am in love with chalkboard paint and am going to have a theme of chalkboards at my wedding so I thought painting the box with this paint was only appropriate. I also feel that these girls can reuse these boxes if they would like and can write what they want on the top of them..
First thing I bought 6 unfinished cigar boxes from Michael's. It took several coats so I started painting them right away.

I then got together the things I would be adding. First I printed off Will you be my cards from weddingchicks.com They have free templates for a lot of things including wedding invitations (I will be printing mine off from there, HELLO FREE. I was very excited when I stumbled upon this!)

Then I typed some information up including 'Our Day', 'What you will wear', 'Your Role', and 'My Girls'
All of my bridesmaids are not best friends so I thought it would be a good idea for them to have some background information about each other before they had to be spending a lot of time together. I had some left over card stock (you know since I am a teacher) and printed the information up on it.

I then made a mood board of some things that I have found so I could give them an idea of what theme I was going for. I found a couple bridesmaids dresses, different decorations, shoes I want them to wear, and some flower displays that I like.

I also got some paint samples and cut up some fabric into pieces that could be carried around. I also found this cute napkins at Hobby Lobby with each girls initial on them!! They added the perfect touch!

I then put the other fabric into the bottom of the box to give it a pillow look and wrote our wedding date on the top!! I was loving it!!

I then wrote on the top of the box and added the remaining items to the box. I put the card on the top so when they opened it up it would be the first thing they saw!!

The theme of our wedding is going to be pink and gray if you couldn't tell. I think they turned out so well!! I hope all of my girls love them as much as I do!!

Happy Thursday!!
